Sofia is an experienced investment professional with expertise in the international mining sector and managing investment in emerging markets.

She is currently the CEO and Founder of Atlante Capital Partners, an investment vehicle focused on distressed assets in emerging markets.

She has also joined Ma’aden as a Non-Executive Director and holds board positions with other leading international mining and commodities businesses including Canagold Resources Ltd, Yellow Cake PLC, as well as international healthcare companies such as Sitex SA and Spitex Perspecta AG.

Sofia’s investment experience spans 30 years, with a focus on investment and development in global emerging markets. She has held senior positions as Head of Special Situations at Blue Crest Capital Management from 2007 to 2016, and as Deputy Managing Director at the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund between 2002 and 2007. Prior to this, she was a Senior Banker at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development from 1994 to 2002.

Sofia has an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School, and a BA in Economics from George Washington University.
